The McCain/Palin ticket and their supporters have a HUGE set of cojones. The outrageousness of their hypocrisy and arrogance can potentially cause the campaign to self destruct (combined with their blatant, continuous lies).
McCain’s camp, especially Carly Fiorina (who has her own problems with credibility), continues to use sexism as the automatic response to ANY criticism or questions about Palin’s judgment, experience, or skill set. That’s right, JOHN MCCAIN is saying that Sarah Palin has been a victim of repeated sexism although his behavior and congressional decisions have shown that McCain is no friend to women if not downright sexist. McCain has repeatedly voted against equal pay for women (because it would be a burden on businesses), voted against birth control being covered by insurance similar to Viagra, laughed at a Clinton “bitch” remark, and told a vile jokes about a pre-teen Chelsea Clinton and “ape-rape”.
The second-half of the “pro-women” ticket, Sarah Palin, criticized Hillary Clinton’s claim of sexism as whining, is against choice under any circumstances, and supported a law to have victims of sex abuse pay for their own rape kits. As for SNL’s parody of Palin, Fiorina says it is “sexist in the sense that just because Sarah Palin has different views than Hillary Clinton does not mean that she lacks substance.” Fiorina is either an idiot or is talking about a subject she know very little about…the skit CANNOT be sexist if they show one woman as substantive and the other as not substantive. That’s being even-handed. Any unbiased person automatically dismisses the “having different view puts Palin in an unfavorable light” spin, it’s the fact that she seems to hardly any opinions/positions (or her own opinions/positions) on any substantive topics.
But the McCain camp continues to shout “SEXISM-POW-SEXISM-POW” to distract the American public. If this works, we will get the administration we deserve.
