Considered by many to be one of the best wide receivers in NFL history, Terrell Owens has the chance to extent his legacy and changes the negative perception of being a selfish player. Owens has been granted a tryout with the Seattle Seahawks, as the team confirmed Sunday night. Owens had been sidelined by knee surgery and has not played in the NFL since 2010.
While mired in child support issues, Owens hopes to take the spotlight away from his personal and financial issues and remind fans and players of his athleticism. T.O. has had continuous support from his comrade and former Browns teammate Chad “OchoCinco” Johnson. Johnson who is now a member of the Miami Dolphins has also attained celebrity, however, is often viewed in a more positive light.
Personally, I hope T.O. does well and makes it on the team. There are a number of NFL players who have had much more serious issues off the field, some criminal, and have managed to take advantage of a second chance.
NFL preseason started this past Sunday, the season starts September 5.
Update: After a great tryout including a 4.5 40, T.O. impressed the Seahawks and was quickly signed by the team. Congrats!
